Our Passion for Dachshunds, Our Commitment to Excellence

At RWDoxies we are dedicated to the responsible breeding and nurturing of our dogs. We compete in field trials, scent trials, barn hunt, earth dog trials and all of our dogs have been around the show ring a time or two, earning Grand Championships & Championships. We carefully select our dogs, and have even imported from other countries. We have welcomed each and every dog into our home and our hearts.

Our passion for this breed goes beyond just providing puppies; we are committed to educating our community, protecting and preserving our breed, offering lifetime support to our families and guardian homes, and upholding the highest standards in breeding practices.

Roman - GCH Zvezda Kovaleni Takesha II JE RATN

In searching for a playmate for Abby and a purebred dog we could show, register, and be a foundation Stud Dog to our program, I stumbled across Roman. I still remember flying to Toronto to pick him up, after his long journey from Russia. Roman stole my heart instantly. He has the most incredible temperament and we couldn't be happier with this boy. Roman is brave, loyal, and a true testament to the breed, in structure, temperament, health, and instinct. Roman holds multiple titles in the conformation ring, as he gained his CKC Grand Championship within a few short weeks of entering the conformation ring. Roman also holds titles in Barn Hunt, Earth Dog, Urban Locating, Trailing & Locating, and Shed Dog dog sports.

Roman is proven with his first litter sired on the Ground on January 29th, 2024 to 4 stunning puppies. 2 girls and 2 boys. This litter was bred by Lyn Davis with Rosehill Kennels.

Roman produced a CKC Champion within this litter. His son Walker Completed his CKC Championship in two weekends of showing as a junior puppy. As a baby puppy, Walker had 21 Best Baby Puppy in Group and 6 Best Baby Puppy in Show with his handler Denise Smith. 

The Second litter Roman sired was born on September 24th, 2024. The Legacy Litter. Producing a litter of 6 beautiful puppies. 5 boys and 1 girl. We are very excited for the future of this litter and look forward to watching them all grow.

Luna

We welcomed Luna into our home in 2022 at 11 weeks old, from breeder Lyn Davies with Rosehill Kennels. Luna quickly became Roman's sidekick and stole all of our hearts.

Luna and Nia entered the dog show world while Luna was a baby puppy. Luna won Multiple Best Puppy in Breed, and Won Best Puppy in Specialty and went onto win Best of Breed over a stunning lineup of long-haired miniature dachshunds for a 5-point major, in a breed specialty before being put away to mature.

While she was growing and maturing Luna gained several titles in dog sports and holds several NASDA titles and has even played in the Earth Dog Dens.

Luna re-entered the Confirmation ring in 2024, with her handler Denise Smith. While traveling to shows both in Alberta and B.C Luna quickly gained her CKC Championship and accumulated some GCH Points.

Hazel

Hazel was just a few weeks old when we first met her. She established a special place in our hearts and our home. Being Sired by our very own Roman - Zvezda Kovaleni Takesha II.

As one of 4 puppies in this litter and we are thankful for her breeder, Lyn Davies for allowing us to be a part of her journey from the very beginning Hazel embodies her dad's calm, and gentle demeanor while also displaying the courage and curiosity of a dachshund.

Hazel enjoys playing, snuggling, and embarking on adventures. Her affectionate nature extends to both people and animals, making her a friend to all. We are thrilled to welcome this beautiful girl in our family with such an incredible temperament.

Hazel has attended one show as a baby puppy and went onto show beautifully at AKC as a Junior Puppy. She has also played in the Earthdog dens this fall for the first time.

We have high expectations for her future and the contributions she will bring to our program in the future. We look forward to many adventures ahead!
